A letter from Jan Rhinehart
Greetings to all members of the Longmont Artist’s Guild,
As a board member, I wanted to alert you to some of our needs with the hope that you might be willing to step up and help meet those needs.
Joan Rhodes has done a wonderful job as publicity chair as we have had very good coverage with the Longmont Times-Call and other area papers. We hate to see her leave that position, but the good news is she will be on the slate of officers nominated to become our new president!
I will be leaving as your treasurer after three years, so we will need to fill that position as well. Neither job is difficult, and you would have much help in getting started. One very helpful thing, almost a requirement, would be that you have e-mail. We only meet once a month, which means we sometimes have issues to discuss or resolve via e-mail.
Our board meeting is the 1st Wednesday of the month at 3 p.m. at St. Stephens Episcopal Church. For more details concerning these job descriptions, please contact Joan or Jan.
I think everyone that comes to our meetings and demos will agree that it is often difficult to see the artist working. We have been trying to find a solution and have just been told that Louisville has purchased a camera set up to alleviate this problem.. It had been used once when we talked to them and they were quite excited about it. We have been invited to attend one of their meetings to view their solution. We need someone interested in attending the meeting along with a few LAG board members, and heading up a committee to follow through. Is there anyone with the knowledge to lead this search or to learn what needs to be done?
The three positions listed above are only a small number of ways to get involved with the Longmont Artist’s Guild. In order for our guild to grow, member participation is very valuable. We need to hear from you. Please call or email me.
Sincerely,
Jan Rhinehart
