Get ready for a day of creativity and transformation with Izabela Tysver's "Giving it a Second Life" Altered Book Journal Workshop! 🖋📚 In this hands-on class, you'll repurpose old hardcover books into unique journals, turning something old into something truly beautiful and personal. You'll learn various techniques, from creating your pages with fabric, dyes, and found objects to decorating the cover using collaging, gesso transfers, stitching, wiring, and more.

Throughout the workshop, you'll dive into creative exploration—troubleshooting, experimenting, and having fun. Izabela encourages a nonjudgmental approach to the creative process, so whether you’re a beginner or an experienced artist, this class will help you tap into your artistic potential in new ways.

What you'll learn and create:

- Repurposing hardcover books into journals

- Collaging and mixed media techniques

- Free-flow stitching and gesso/glue transfers

- Bookbinding, mark-making, and creating book signatures

- Using found objects like branches, metal pieces, and fabric for decoration

You’ll also leave with a beautiful journal, a deeper appreciation for the creative process, and some new techniques in your artistic toolbox!

Materials provided include:

- Watercolor and vintage papers

- Acrylic paints, gesso, and glues

- Fabric, wire, and found objects for decoration

- Bookbinding tools (awls, needles, waxed thread, etc.)

- Plus much more!

Bring your own apron, scrap fabrics, found objects, or personal items to make your journal even more unique.
