In this session, we will learn how to create beautiful Patchwork Dreams using collages, colored pencils, and acrylic paints. If you don’t have colored pencils, feel free to use wax crayons or paint markers as an alternative.
During the lesson, we will start by creating a patchwork-like background using neutral-colored papers and colorful acrylic paints. Next, we’ll use collage elements to create a focal point and add details with colored pencils. To participate in this exciting event, be sure to gather the following materials:

Eulalia Mejia, also known as Happy Chinchilla across the internet, is an illustrator, graphic designer, artist, teacher and maker of stuff. She lives in the rural mountains of Colombia, South America, with her dog, two cats and human boyfriend.
Eulalia’s journey in art started at an early age when she would fill her classroom notebooks with doodles of cats, dogs and the occasional monster. Incredibly, this wasn’t appreciated by her teachers. Her love for the graphic arts drew her to study graphic design. After years of working as an in-house designer, she shifted her interest to illustration, which made her return to her first love: drawing.
Eulalia started exploring mixed media and fell head over heels for its freedom; the possibility of going from one technique to another means there is always something new to learn. Her first approach to this world happened when she started creating and altering small books where she would play with newly discovered techniques and color combinations, often using weird and whimsical characters as her main subject.
Most days, you can find Eulalia in her studio creating. Her interests encompass a wide variety of creative projects like doll making, embroidery, bookbinding, mixed media painting, collaging and art journaling. When not in her studio, she enjoys riding her bicycle through the mountains and watching horror movies while hiding under the cushions.
