September Meeting & Art Supply Swap

In celebration of Longmont Arts Week, this meeting will feature a special Art Supply Swap and a presentation by Debra Jason on the fascinating technique of using alcohol inks.

During the demo, Debra will introduce you to the vibrant world of alcohol inks. You'll learn about the inks themselves, the tools you can use, and the various substrates perfect for this medium. Watch as Debra demonstrates the joy of creating something from nothing with this free-flowing, colorful technique.

Bring your gently used art supplies to swap with fellow artists and stay for Debra Jason’s inspiring demonstration. We look forward to seeing you there!

Debra Jason has been exploring alcohol ink painting since 2017. In 2020, when stay-at-home orders were issued, she dove deeper into the medium and discovered others were inspired by (and wanted to purchase) her creations. Alcohol inks have a mind of their own so no two pieces are exactly alike. Flowers, the ocean and nature often serve as Debra's inspiration, but sometimes she just plays with the inks to see where they lead her.

During this demo you'll get an introduction to the inks, the tools you can use, and the various substrates you can paint on. Debra will demonstrate the joy of creating something from nothing with the vibrant, free-flowing medium.
